Roarke’s Digital Photography Workshops

"Red Flower" is one of Roarke's favorite flower images.

"Pretty In Pink" is one of Roarke's favorite flower images.

You won’t want to miss Roarke’s popular Digital Photography Parts 1 & 2 workshops in August as part of the Vermont Festival of the Arts. This year, by popular request, he will be adding a Part 3 workshop to the mix. The wonderful thing about these workshops is that they are geared specifically for the amateur photographer who is interested in creating more exciting and beautiful travel, family and general interest photographs. All of the workshops begin with a brief instructional session here at the studio before heading out into the field to take photos. Workshop 1 concentrates on landscape, architectural and event photography. Visits to Mad River Valley scenic locations and architectural standouts are mixed in with a visit to the local farmer’s market for subject material. Workshop 2 will concentrate on portraits and people, architectural detail and patterns and textural surfaces. Workshops 1 & 2 are limited to four people and are scheduled for Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23 respectively. New this year, Workshop 3 will concentrate on dramatic lighting and unique perspectives for a more creative interpretation of your subject. Manipulation of the image on the computer and digital printing are part of the workshop. Workshop 3 is limited to 3 people due to space constraints in the digital lab. Participation in Workshops 1 & 2 recommended before Workshop 3 is highly recommended. Workshop 3 is scheduled for Saturday, August 29. All workshops run from 9:00 am to 4 pm and require advanced registration. Contact Roarke through this website or by calling 802.583.2224 to register and receive more details. In all workshops, some experience with the operation of your camera is expected. Otherwise, arrive with an open mind and leave with an entirely new way of looking at a photograph.
