Another Wall Comes Down

The wall leading into the work room is stripped.

Demolition continues on a few select walls here at Moosewalk Studios and Gallery as work continues on the expansion and renovation of the gallery. Our next phase of work is the moving of existing  heating elements, moving the electrical connectors for the installation of our expanded lighting and the final demolition of the remaining studs. This is all in preparation for erecting the 12 feet of new display walls and the painting of the ceiling.

A new wood floor will be laid throughout the new and existing studio and gallery. A random color hickory was selected to complement the color of the walls. The new floor will be much more comfortable underfoot than the current painted concrete and will cover a multitude of blemishes in the current floor. We are told that the wood floor will also be much easier to maintain and clean.

Why are we doing this renovation and expansion? The current display space was adequate up until this time. Gary is expanding his giclee offerings, Roarke is producing more and larger prints and we will be offering fine art pottery (more on this at a later date) in addition to our currently presenting the sculpture of Mark Schwabe and the folk art of Lisa and Brent Hilliker.

Keep checking back for up-dates on the construction/renovation progress and watch for our grand re-opening in May.
